AFEC Profile

AFEC is the peak export body for the Australian Flower industry. AFEC's commitment to promoting Australian grown flowers overseas is substantial. AFEC is far more than a promotional body and in the 16 years since its establishment, members have worked hard in producing efficient logistical systems to support all facets of flower export. Quarantine, levies and taxes, freight concerns, cool chain distribution, research and development and post harvest training are just some of the areas of AFEC's expertise.

The association also has a commitment to the promotion and use of Australian Flowers and Foliages to compliment global fashion trends. AFEC's international promotion plan encourages local floristry designers to be part of their showcasing team. Demonstrations at floral venues throughout the world both inspire and educate, and have proven to be a wonderful means of introducing Australian Flowers as an innovative resource. In 1997, AFEC together with a creative team of designers proved their brilliance by winning the very first Chelsea Flower Show Gold medal for Australia!

AFEC's commitment to innovative design ensures that Australian Flowers continue to be delivered at premium perfection. Working with growers to produce first quality flowers is just as important as AFEC's work in showcasing them. Being situated at the Melbourne Flower Market means the association operates from the industry hub and has close communication with growers and designers.
