Good Food ShowAs well as major events such as the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, Australia has a variety of smaller annual festivals and events that celebrate and showcase various aspects of the floral industry. These provide an enjoyable way of learning more about flowers and, in the case of some of the regional flower festivals, provide a great excuse to explore some of Australia's prettiest rural areas.

Many flower events feature specialist designs of great intricacy and beauty. It is a wonderful way to gain insight into the creative possibilities of flower arranging. Remember that if you do see a particular design you really like, you can always talk to your local florist about the possibility of recreating aspects of the arrangement to suit your particular occasion and budget.

In addition to major events, there are many seasonal activities such as Tulip festivals and other open days. Why not make it a date to visit at least one of these events each year?

Here is a list of events to get you started:

2007 Spring Racing Carnival
