Before starting
For safety we recommend that children and adults prepare recipes together. Before you start, always wash your hands and wash any pieces of fruit or vegetables that don't need peeling. Read the recipe together and get all the ingredients and cooking utensils ready in advance.

Safety First
Take lots of care with hot food, with the hot stove and always take care when using knives or electric mixers. Remember, that while it's great fun in the kitchen it is not a place to run around or throw things about. Make sure you know how to switch things on and off properly and always double check.

Be Adventurous
Take your time to smell and taste different fruits and vegetables and learn about new ways to prepare them. Did you know that children's taste buds change almost daily as you grow up?   And, that what your taste buds thought was "yucky" last year may be "yummy" this year.   So be adventurous, test out different things from time to time and enjoy discovering wonderful fresh fruit and vegetables. It's a life long adventure.
