*** VICTORIAN RETAILER OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2010 ***

The Victorian fruit and vegetable Retailer of the Year awards were presented at VicFresh 2010, the fresh produce industry's annual gala dinner, held on Saturday, 27 February.
The awards are organised through the Melbourne Wholesale Fruit, Vegetable & Flower Markets and are part of an industry program that aims to recognise the importance of local greengrocers and increase fresh produce sales. Retailers are independently mystery shopped through the year to rate performance against criteria such as customer service, communication of product information, product quality, variety, cleanliness, store layout and presentation. Over 550 retailers participate in the program and the Melbourne Markets Credit Service sponsor both the major awards in recognition of the key role that retailers play at the Markets.
