Gabriel Gaté

Gabriel Gaté is a French chef, cookery author and television presenter with an international reputation. Gabriel was born in the Loire Valley of France in 1955 and served his chef's apprenticeship with Albert Augereau, the best chef of the region. After working at some of the finest restaurants in Paris and London, he came to Australia in 1977 with his Melbourne-born wife, Angie.

The sales of Gabriel's cookbooks have reached the one million mark.

Gabriel's book 'How to Teach Kids to Cook' has been highly acclaimed, while 'Good Food for Men' , published in 1996, has won several international awards. His latest book, 'A Guide to Everyday Cooking' , aims to teach the home cook the joys of cooking.

As one of the most talented cookery show presenters, Gabriel has presented over 2000 recipes on television and has hosted several cooking shows.
